Picaso was founded in 1935 by Tsunesaburo Yagi and his two sons: Tsurusaburo & Tsuneo. They started the company in order to create new and natural cosmetics effective in enhancing beauty. It was they who set the company's policy of 'Invention-Idea' (From Idea to Invention) and the company's name.
The company's name Picaso came about from the Japanese words 'BI.CA.SO' which carried the meaning "a foundation to change beautifully". From their home city of Nichinomiya, in the prefecture of Hyogo, Japan; Picaso has spread its influence throughout the Asian region, establishing branches and manufacturing facilities throughout Japan and the South East Asian region. Picaso cosmetics can now be found throughout the South East Asia under a variety of brands.
